A full day of Royal Wedding Celebrations

in Holsworthy

29th April 2011

Details of the day's events

As the day of the Royal Wedding rapidly approaches final preparations are being made by the Holsworthy Memorial Hall Committee to celebrate this historical event in an unforgettable way.

The doors to the Memorial Hall will open to the public at 10am on the 29th April. The Wedding coverage will be shown on a big screen with light refreshments on sale. Outside there will be a street market with local traders and Charity stalls (if you would like a stall please contact Mike Johns on 01409 253135 but hurry because they are going fast!).

From 2pm till 4pm the activities will move outside into the manor car park. A street party with local bands entertaining and even a traditional sing a long with the town Band! Tables and chairs will be provided and it is hoped families will come along and join in with the fun and bring along their picnic style tea.

As with most weddings the evening party is always a lot of fun. The show in Holsworthy promises to be a party to remember. As well as two local bands and a Dj the main act will be the world renowned Bjorn Again playing some of ABBA’s greatest hits. Bjorn Again was created and founded by Rod Stephen (Director and musician) in 1988 in Melbourne, Australia. Seen as a light-hearted satirical parody of ABBA, the show rapidly achieved cult status. Having been acknowledged by Bjorn Ulvaeus as being the show that single-handily initiated the ABBA revival in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the 'Bjorn Again' show is hailed as the most popular and successful show of its type.  It is hoped a capacity Audience will fill the Manor Car Park For one of Holsworthy’s biggest ever Live shows. The lions will be selling their Burgers and a full bar will be available.

Tickets are available from the Holsworthy Information Centre or Credit Card bookings by phone on 01409 253475. Tickets are at a bargain price of only £10 each. All profits from ticket sales will go towards maintaining the Memorial Hall.

The event has been sponsored by local businesses, donations, Charities , town, District and County Councils. The committee are still looking for volunteers to help with the running of the day. If you would like to lend a hand as a Marshall or even make cups of tea during the wedding please contact the Holsworthy Information Centre with your details. Email: tel: 01409 254185.
